They came rolled up in excellent condition. I had the mounting frames with a
track # built for the signs. They were originally displayed at the platform
end in metal cases. I wanted them an industrial black, but my carpenter made
them out of fancy oak. Here's a photo of the sign in place.

They are in exceptional condition - did you do any restoration? Who was
selling these on eBay?

Yea I feel very LUCKY, just think I scored 50% of the signs for the
Lackawanna's departure trains, with my hometown Dansville, NY (MP 318.4)
listed on both signs!

This Fall the ELHS toured the remnants of the Lackawanna Terminal, now used
by Buffalo's NFTA trolley operations; we were able to walk all of the
covered (with Bush trainshed) platforms. About two years ago I was fortunate
to acquire, off of ebay 2 of the 4 train signs that announced the
destination departures of the Lackawanna trains from Buffalo; including the
flagship train The Phoebe Snow-in a maroon background with silver paint on.
The New York Mail train sign has a black background with silver lettering.
They have become the pride of my collection.
