Subject: Kingsland Station photos X1175-X1181
"Kingsland_1911.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1841x2006 (24bit)

Thanks to all who've helped with the identifications at Kingsland. I've
reviewed some drawings that I have access to and will attach to this post.
It appears that the original Ridge Road overpass was built first, before
the "new" station. The attached 1913 drawing gives a proposed layout for
the station alongside what appears to be an earlier drawing of the bridge.
A bridge inspection report gives a build date for the bridge of 1911. It
also notes that the bridge was "widened" in 1928.

The second drawing is from 1917 and shows a detailed plan for the new
station. There are about 10 or so drawings that I've seen for this
station, all drawn in 1917/revised in early 1918. So I'd make an EDUCATED
GUESS that Kingsland Station construction could be as early as 1918.

Photo X1181 suggests to me that this bridge has been in place for several
years. It does not look "fresh" to me. Notice the large stain from the
water leak on the left (north) side of the arch.

Meanwhile, in photo 1179, the station looks crisp and fresh. Glass is
clean. Hinges on the door are shiny. No soot on the chimney cap. I think
it is likely that the reason for the photos was the recent completion of
the new station at Kingsland.
