"Untitled.jpg" - image/jpeg, 480x343 (24bit)

Just FYI

My gt Uncle, Geo Wm Spencer, who came to the U.S. from Lincolnshire/
Leistershire with my grandfather, Matt, another Gt Uncle, James Alfred--
they'd worked the Grantham RR over there--wanted to drive the big engines in
the US--

Uncle Will and Uncle Alf bth became engineers---Frank went to work in the
RR shops, and Tom--rt--was a "gandy dancer"---(anyone need that one
explained??? smile) My Dad went "firing" on the road---rode the caboose a
lot---they cooked on board them, slept-- usually gone 3 days, maybe 4, at a
time--- from Oneonta to Whitehall, or to Scranton, Wilkesbarre--- when I
think of him running along the tops of the cars, dropping down on the ladders
to unhook the pins that kept the cars attached---- Dad had tremendous upper
arm/shoulder strength---but later in life had horrific bursitus.

Enough memory lane for now---
