I am the youngest daughter (born in 1920) of A.O. Lagerstrom, architect and
building superindent for the CM ST P & P RR. for 38 years and designed many
of their depots and roundhouses. At present I and his grandchildren are
collecting photographs and information about his architectural work for the
Railroad. I do not see any listings for the two depots that I discovered on
the Internet. One is still in use as a Radio station in Butte, MT and you
can read about it below (designed in 1916 and still a prominent part of the
city.

History

KBZK and KXLF are sister stations. KXLF is a gorgeous remnant of America's
railroad days, built in 1916, and constructed of St. Louis pressed brick,
featuring a Butte landmark, a 95 foot tall clock tower. Commuters still
check the time while traveling up and down Montana Street. The interior
features marble floors and oak paneling with burlap accent.
KXLF-TV have resided here at "the station" since 1957. This building is
today an excellent example of preservation and adaptive reuse. KXLF-TV was
the premier broadcast television station in Montana, hitting the airwaves
first back in 1953.
The station was founded by Montana broadcast pioneer Ed Craney who had in
the 30's & 40's built the Z-Bar Radio Network. Remnants of the old "XL"
identity still remain in the Pacific Northwest at stations such as KXL
Radio, Portland, OR & KXLY-TV in Spokane, WA.
KXLF is housed in a building that was always destined to be a "station". The
former passenger depot of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific
Railroad or as it was simply known then, "The Milwaukee Road".
KBZK facilities are located in the heart of Bozeman at 1128 East Main.

The reason I KNOW that my Dad designed the Butte station - I oot a copy of a
photograph taken of my Father when he retired in 1953 as he looked over the
plans for one of his first RR stations in Butte, MT in 1916 and here one
can plainly it is the Butte station.

The other station I found on the web was in LaCrosse, WI and A.O.
Lagerstrom was listed as the architect.
Your organization probably has access to information about the works of
Railroad architects. I would be most appreciative if you could give me some
clues WHERE to continue my search
