I was looking for some info on Parkgate Alberta, and came across ...(the
RSHS structure database).
I quickly did some updates on it, and with more time, many more to add.
But, see attached. AS far as Park gate is concerned, in over 20 years of
searching out these old buildings, I have to say, it is the best find to
date, Unfortunately, it is in very poor condition due to the ever changing
winds that have affected the local sand dunes. The station is pretty much
destroyed, but still remains on site. Built in 1913 by the GTP it was last
use approx 1917 when the line was lifted for the CNoR line across the lake.
After WWI, it was never replaced and the station sat there. Similar fate for
other stations in the area, but this one remains on site. See photos
attached.
