LAVALE - A new signed and numbered limited edition lithograph print from a
1991 oil painting by Charles Amos titled "A Western Maryland Christmas"
features The Chicago Express as it pauses at the Frostburg Depot on a snowy
night in December 1916.

The Art Gallery, 927 National Highway in LaVale, local dealer for Amos'
artwork and publisher of the new print, will debut it at a reception at the
gallery on Dec. 6.

The artist will be present from noon until 3 p.m. to sign and personalize
the new prints and visit with his followers and friends. Remarques may also
be ordered.

Two brand new pastel originals will be unveiled and available for sale.

"When we first saw the original oil painting at his Gilchrist Gallery show
in Cumberland, Md., in 2002, we discussed the possibility of acquiring the
rights to reproduce it with him," said Dawna Staup, owner of The Art
Gallery.

"We thought it would be a very nice print to offer our customers for the
Christmas season this year. Last year we sold over 60 copies of 'Command
Performance' during the Christmas season, which was Mr. Amos' previous
print."

Amos, who now resides in Hanover, Pa., devotes much of his time to the
creation of detailed images of locomotives and trains, which are his
lifelong interest and career. He is among "the leading railroad artists in
the country," according to U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, who worked
with Amos in Washington in the 1970s before becoming chairman of CSX Corp.

Amos has produced commissioned oil paintings for the B&O Railroad Co.,
Safetran Systems Corp., Sea-Land Service Inc., Delaware Otsego Corp. and
many individuals in the Cumberland area where he and his wife Mary lived for
15 years.

Many of Amos' previous works will be on display and available for sale at
the show. Commissions for new artwork will be accepted, "should you have an
interest in working with Mr. Amos to complete one of his concepts for an
original train painting," according to Staup.
