Bob Pennisi, author of eight New Jersey railroad books, presents "Railroading in northwest New Jersey" at the Jefferson Township Public Library on Wednesday, July 6 at 7 p.m.
This free slideshow, with anecdotal stories, focuses on the railroads of Morris, Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties from the 1950s to the 1980s. Pennisi, an Erie Lackawanna railroad veteran, shows many railroads including the Lackawanna, Erie Lackawanna, Morristown and Erie, Morris County Central, Lehigh and Hudson, Jersey Central, Contrail and NJ Transit. He also shows some great black and white aerial photos of Port Morris and Erie Lackawanna stations no longer in existence.
To register for this program, visit jeffersonlibrary.net or call the library at 973-208-6244. The library is located at 1031 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
