(erielack) Pavonia/Newport

Funny thing about the PATH station is that on one platform, the sign says 
Newport. On the other one, it says Pavonia/Newport. The pillars containing 
the "E" for Erie are painted in a dark green. Next time I go to Newport Centre 
Mall, I'll take some shots and post them. Have to admit that the new PATH 
equipment is pretty nice. They also have monitors telling you when the next 
train going to either 33rd St., JSQ, etc., will arrive and they seem to be 
pretty much on time. One of the nicest things is that one train is still 
called "World Trade Center".
 
Sure wish I could have seen this when Erie was there. It's kind of hard to 
believe that this area had rails when now, it's high rises and office 
buildings.
 
Walt, you, Randy and others are the lucky ones. You lived it when people 
like me only have photos and can only imagine what it was like. Thanks so much 
for sharing what it was like.
