Salamanca, N.Y. — 

Mr. Lawrence Quigley, 85, of Clinton Street, Salamanca, died Sunday evening (July 10, 2011) at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
Born on May 27, 1926 in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Andrew and Pauline Elsen Quigley. He was married in St. Patrick’s Church on July 7, 1951 to the former Alfreda Skudlarek who predeceased him on March 16, 1996.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the European Theatre during WWII. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal, Good Conduct medal, WWII Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Mr. Quigley was employed by the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a brakeman for over 35 years prior to his retirement in 1986.
