Re: (erielack) A stored locomotive in Binghamton?

Well, Todd, there was an E-8, several boxcars & other stuff in the passenger sidings at the old DL&W station when I was there in 1998 or so. I heard it all got moved. Maybe this is where the E-8 got to. The poor thing can rust in peace on the rails it once trod (assuming it was a DL&W E-8).

Subject: (erielack) A stored locomotive in Binghamton?

I went railfanning in Binghamton the other day. I stumbled across what I think to be the old track alignment for the Syracuse/Utica Branches. I just checked it out on Google Maps and it looks like I am correct.

Anyhow, if you follow the remaining track north from the old main (on Google maps) parallel to Montgomery Street it seems to dead end at Bevier Street. Right at the end of track it looks like an old locomotive. Almost like a cannibalized E8. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.
