Re: (erielack) B&W scan

Since EL was perhaps the best documented RR in the 1970's, I was able to
track the movements of the 3630 in late July '75. On Thursday morning, July
24, the 3630 was the lead unit (3619 trailing) on CX-99 out of Croxton,
arriving Chicago Friday July 25 at 2:05 pm. The 3642 was added to the pair
and the 3630 departed that evening as the trailing unit, facing west, on a
monster First NY-100, 3642/3619/3630, hauling PB-100's pigs as well as the
Croxtons and 6 cars for the CNJ Somerville NJ ramp. This train is in the
ELHS consist collection, departing Meadville at 10:35 pm on Saturday 7/26
(81-2, 5559 tons) AND appears in the new Trackside Around Binghamton book on
the S Tier on Sunday 7/27 (miscaptioned as NY-98 on 7-23), arriving CX that
evening. I don't know what train the 3630 took west, but the best
explanation for it to be turned facing east is operating via PO, perhaps on
NY-97 (Mahwah pickup) departing CX the evening of Monday 7/28, arriving
Marion on the morning of 7/30 (Wednesday), and proceeding to 51St St on
CNW-97, arriving in time to take NY-100 east. Rich took the photo of this
train on Friday 8/1 shortly before arriving at CX.
