I received a call from list member Rich Pennisi, who clarified the
situation:

Train #1155 was listed in the public timetable as a Hoboken-Suffern run. The
public, however, did not realize the train did continue on to Tuxedo - it
was actually listed in the employee timetable! It possibly might have
continued on to NJ tower where it turned around and returned to Suffern.

Don't forget that the students could have been traveling from south of
Suffern, and I doubt they'd have bus service that far south (for that
matter, Suffern is a hike from Tuxedo as well!)
