Hi Richard,

Nice info on the Erie's tender swapping practices. Only thing I would like
to add. You said " When the berks with the straight sided tanks came in for
overhaul the new ones were put on and the K-5's got the berk tanks and the
trickle down effect started." True enough, but for the most part, that was
mostly S-1 (transferred to the K-5/ K-5a during their 1941 modernization's)
and some S-2 class Berks. The S-3's ran with their original tenders right up
to the end, and of course the S-4's already had tenders just like the ones
delivered with the 0-8-0's. Only reason I know is that have the better part
of an "O" scale S-3 built, and the research indicates that the S-3 tenders
were not swapped out.
