There is a passing track at the Harriman station. Just north of the
station is a wye, which was the connection to the old main. It is still
in service for a freight customer, less than a mile of track IIRC. The
rest of the lie was torn up and is a hiking trail.

No. It extends to Airmont Road (Thruway exit 14A) and a bit farther east
to serve the paper recycling company there. Track is still there but has
not been used in MANY years, so is heavily overgrown. It would probably
be difficult to WALK the line between Tallman and Spring Valley. The line
between Piermont and Nanuet was abandoned and the track is gone; even the
east leg of the Nanuet wye is gone. The Nanuet post office now occupies
this area. Metro-North has considered restoring the line between Spring
Valley and Suffern, but nothing has happened.
