GREAT COMMENTARY---agreed!!

But MY Kodachrome will outlast your digitals. =20

Hell, in 10 years the devices you use to store digitals on will be totally
outdated and not obtainable. In about 15 years from now, we'll all be =
saying
"Whats a CR-ROM?"

The outcome 20 years from now will be the modern day equivalent of storing
jpegs on 5 1/4 floppies 10 years ago.

And as digital technology gets better and display devices (monitors) get =
more=20
refined, I will be able to rescan my slides to the better resolution =
standards=20
of tomorrow, while the Jpegs and Tiffs of today won't be upgradable, as =
the=20
digital image you have today will be the digital image you are stuck =
with=20
forever.

Its just another sign that our society is infatuated with anything that=20
produces instant gratification. First it was 1-hour photo development, =
now
we focus on byapssing the process altogether. We apprear to not have =
much=20
patience anymore.  Thats pretty sad.

Just sign me,

Not suckered by nifty, flashy, temporary gadgets
