Re: (erielack) Re: M&E Alco's sold?



I don't understand why GVT would be buying more units when the MA&N is
virtually shut down; it seems as though they could send 2 or 3 units to the
D-L and leave a unit on each end of the MA&N, thus saving $140K on the NYS&W
units and still be able to handle what traffic is left.   I'm not sure what
was in the enginehouse in Utica last Dec. but there was an M420 and an ex-LV
C420 outdoors drained and capped, plus 4 ADCX units and some of their cars.
In a pinch I'd think an Adarondack unit could be borrowed -

Even if more units were a necessity, there's cheaper stuff out there,
although in varying conditions - one comment I have always heard about the
NYS&W C430's being for sale is they want too much for them.
