The American Orient Express set is one of only 3000 made. We have

only one left. This set consists of 2 E8A (one powered) and 6 streamline

passenger cars in beautiful royal blue and cream all made by Rivarossi.

We hear since RIVAROSSI is no longer distributed in the USA, these are

going to be "hot" collector items.

HO-Passenger Cars

Branchline sleepers and coaches-

We are still taking reservations for the DL&W and Erie "Lake"

sleepers and Erie and Erie Lackawanna coaches (1100 series, we assume)

-From Branchline. Still no replies to our multitude of emails

to the manufacturer on release date, colors, etc.

Funaro & Camerlengo-

Arch window Stillwell coaches and various milk cars are here.

The Borden Milk Cars are back ordered, no word on when they are due.

Our prices are very reasonable. Check out the quantity discounts.

Also a few Rivarossi "Phoebe Snow" cars are left, but we're running

low on them. To add to your "Snow" or "Erie Limited" we have a bunch

of International Hobby Corporation (IHC) "head end" cars, ie.-express

baggage and milk cars available to complete your favorite train.

*****Editors note: Rivarossi models are no longer distributed

in the USA. IHC lost the distributorship three years ago and

Model Expo, Inc. in Florida was the sole distributor in the USA

for three years. In March of 2001 Model Expo, Inc. had a problem

with Rivarossi (new management, we hear) and shipped all the models

they had in stock, back to them in Italy. THAT MEANS THERE ARE NO

MORE RIVAROSSI CARS DISTRIBUTED IN THE USA. International Hobby Corp.

now produces a line of model HO cars, passenger and freight

and locomotives, both steam and diesel. They have also reduced

retail prices about 30% depending on the item. They also "claim"

they have improved the quality of the models and upgraded and added

different items to their line of products. We found out the hard

way (we ordered some cars) that the quality of the new IHC cars are

questionable. We also found out that most of what they
<underline>advertised</underline>

in our favorite magazines is <bigger>NOT IN STOCK</bigger>.

THIS IS OUR OPINION on the cars. IHC has dropped the ball and

included the old Rivarossi type wheelsets for their "new" passenger

cars. Quite frankly these wheels SUCK. They are non-NMRA conforming and
are

NOT the RP-25 standard that most models in the hobby now have. They

also made changes to the configuration of the cars including three

doors on each side of baggage cars in the streamline series. I have

never seen three doors on one side of a prototype baggage car. Why

did they do this?? The only improvements that we can see are they

include slightly heavy (out-of-scale) grabirons, handrails and

steps for the heavyweight cars which does add to the detail of the

car and now they have interior kits for the streamline and corrogated

series passenger cars. As usual, IHC has a multitude of models in

various colors and roadnames that the prototypes never had (if they

are working from a prototype). In short, we don't recommend them.

However, *****

Here's the deal. We bought some of them and we want to blow them

out of here fast. We have them discounted, we will include Proto 2000

36" metal wheelsets for each and include the interior kit on the
streamline

cars without any extra charge to you. About a $22.00 value for $12.98.

No returns on these.

15% off some brass items on the passenger page and locomotive page.

HO Variety-

Just a note on some HO scale plastic we have available. One of

our customers is selling a bunch of plastic in local New Jersey

railroads, some undecorated, some custom painted, some with Kadee

#5's, some in undone kits. Most of these cars and locos have been

assembled by a extremely diligent model railroader with care and

a real closeness to the prototype. Mostly freight cars and locomotives.

Also some out of print books. If you feel you might be interested

in some of these items, reply to this email and ask for THE LIST

and we'll send it right off to you. Thanks.

HO Decals-

As noted in our previous newsletters we carry the full line of

Prime Mover Decals and we have a restock of Herald King decals.

Metal wheelsets from Athearn and Lifelike P2K. Now is the

time to rid yourself of those cranky old plastic wheelsets

and upgrade to metal.

This is our place for the entire Woodland Scenics line for any scale.

first scenery attempts towards the larger kits for dioramas or small

We have expanded our N scale to include a host of local road

diesel locomotives and some Southern foreigners.

We have three sets of Lackawanna gray, maroon & yellow passenger

cars by Arnold to match the Lackawanna E8A engines. Yes, we will

break up sets if you want specific cars.
