This it stuff that is of no concern to the general public. I don't think but
more than
a handful of this list are employees, and they are the only ones that should
be
touching a cutting lever. Putting out these 800 numbers to the public is not
a good
idea. One screwball making crank phone calls to a dispatcher or the Railroads
Police Department can really turn off non railfan employees big time. This
got out of hand on the River Line a few years back with railfans calling in
bogus problems with
passing trains so that they would be stopped by the dispatcher. It also can
infuriate a Conductor that has to walk 100 cars in two directions for
nothing. It made a lot of employees very hateful of railfans. A case of a
few bad apples spoiling it
for a lot of other people.
Memos on this subject are a week old, and it all stemmed from one report out
west.
AND AGAIN. NO, ERIE LACKAWANNA CONTENT.
