If that's the case, then the logo can't be "re-copywritten" or "re-trademarked," can it?

Yes, some jackass (appropriate term here!) filed for a copyright on the logo and immediately proceeded to send letters to several model manufacturers demanding royalties. APU put a fast stop to that!

This stems back from Chessie System days, where they had the same licensing deal. They went so far as to start putting a "Circle-R" Registered trademark logo on the "Ches-C" nose logos!
