Re: (erielack) O&W R-O-W

Yeah, I forgot a couple things... I knew I had missed something, but I
couldnt think of just what.

In Rome, about 3/4 of a mile of track operated by the MA&N, and the O&W Rome
roundhouse is still standing. And in Utica there's maybe a couple of
miles, run by the DL&W, EL and now NYS&W. NYS&W ended up with quite a
network of old Lackawanna, O&W and West Shore tracks in the city, most of
which remains although a lot of it is OOS. The O&W freight house still
stands in Utica as well. (There is a photo of an excursion using the O&W
track in an older Railpace, showing the O&W milepost next to the Susquehanna
observation car).

Some of the O&W outlasted as part of the Unadilla Valley RR, south of
Norwich through Sidney and Green as I recall. But this too was abandoned
later, as the entire line was given up. The UV connected with the DL&W at
Richfield Springs.

by M.A.N. Also the only O&W station still open was Utica Union. NYC owned it
and even DL&W used it. Amtrak uses it today. A must see for any railfan.
(Take the train there!)
