Re: (erielack) Steamtown Images--August 3, 2017--X Series (X2180-X2184)
Plates X2182-X2184 The Delaware station was still in place and not boarded
up in the 1950s to early 1960s. It seemed to be open and well painted in
green and red. Route 46 was just across the tracks. One think that I
thought odd about the station was that it appeared to have screens on the
windows. Maybe this was a buggy area along the river. The station, and the
railroad town around it looked like it was high enough to avoid flooding.
One day in 1971 I drove by to find the building gone. EL had severed the
line to Washington.
