IIRC, Lakeland switched from the bridge to the eastern underpass when the bridge's weight limit was reduced. Regardless, all turns at the underpasses and the bridge were sharp; they would be designed much differently today. The Lackawanna built for the vehicles of 1900, not today's 53' trailers.
When the limit was reduced, truckers tended to ignore the weight limit and the only way to really enforce it was to tear the bridge down!
