Here's a question about bridges over tracks,

DL&W, then EL owned the Route 202 bridge.  They maintained it.  Did they
have to get permission from Morris County or New Jersey to take it out?
 There was also a continuing battle going on over the bridge at Great Notch.
 For years it had a wood plank floor, and EL did not want to replace it.  I
think they finally had to or at least replace the floor and increase the
weight limits.  Either the county or the state forced that move.

One last thought.  Who assumes responsibility for these bridges when a line
is abandoned.  For instance, who maintained all the bridges on the Cut-off
when CR pulled up the tracks?
