Re: (erielack) Terminal / shared ownership RR's (e.g. Buffalo Creek, South Buffalo) (slightly off topic)



Is it possible this is a railfan's vehicle, with a big scanner antenna on
top, and a decal stuck on the doors?   It could even be a used railroad
vehicle; someone locally had a hi-rail truck for a while (though they had to
add the gear themself to a used CR truck).

CR sport-utes were limited mainly to yard jitneys although I saw a couple of
them hi-rail equipped and used for inspections by the division "brass" (one
of them bare of any logo at all).  Most newer work trucks were General
Motors pickups with a utility box, in either a gumball fleet yellow or a
flourescent safety yellow/green.  The "sport ute's" were fullsize Chevy
Suburbans...  I don't believe anything smaller was practical for them to
own.
