Chris and the List
BCK was transferred to Conrail on C-Day and ceased to exist at that point.
It's tracks are now under CSX control.

He wrote this in response to my question above. If it ceased to exist on
4/1/76, then why would I have seen a vehicle with its corporate logo on its
doors in the year 2001? Again, it was an SUV, with interestingly enough,
with both a cell phone antenna and one for 2 way radio.
A couple of thoughts arise. CR may have just operated the trackage and
served the customers of BC through CR or another CR owned entity and left BC
as an inactive corp. with no or minimal assets.
Is it possible, that although BC was not operating post LV/EL, that its
corporate existence was never terminated (i.e. dissolved) and that it now
again active in some, but I'm not sure what, manner. It may be active now
through CSX or by another individual / business entity that purchased the
corp (or maybe the name / logo rights) from either CSX post takeover or from
CR pre-takeover.
Regards,
Chris
