Re: (erielack) Split Rail/Derail- Mt. Morris NY



The CB plant was served by the Lackawanna with a facing point eastbound
switch.  As a matter of fact some vandals threw this switch and derailed a
set of E/B F units which went down the bank to the far right of this photo.
    Regarding the Erie's Mt Morris Br. it crossed Canaseraga Creek just
north of the new G&W bridge to the Salt Mine, the west abutment is still
there, you can see it if you look carefully going E/B on I 390 just about
across from the new salt mine.  It then crossed RT. 408 and paralleled it
towards Mt Morris, where it diamonded the DL&W about 2000 feet east of Rt.
408 grade crossing of the DL.  If you look railroad east, as you are going
south east on 408 from I390 you can see the tree row & slight embankment.
