Re: (erielack) Coal trains to Portland cement
The cement market moved to trucks in the 1950's. Two of the major rail
carriers of cement were the Lehigh & New England, which quit in 1961 when
this traffic almost totally disappeared (while they were still solvent),
and the Lehigh & Hudson which struggled on into Conrail.
