Which brings up an opportunity for a TRADE - apparently the Museum (or someone associated with) also got two WC plain SD45s. Do they need all three? Is there anything that's Midwest-specific out east that could be traded?

I bid $100, but obviously didn't win. :)

I don't think "care enough" to bid is a fair statement. Even though a lot of folks are saying "wow, that sold cheaply," I know of few folks who actually have the financial wherewithal to say that $16,000 is "cheap."  Particularly when the unit a) has a blown turbo, and b) would cost $$$ just to move it east!

I'm glad for the folks in Wisconsin that got it, and I'm glad that the unit will be preserved (albeit in WC paint, but we know what's REALLY under there ;). The state of preservation out east right now is just horrible. We have a hard enough time taking care of the stuff we HAVE. That's all I'll soapbox about this time...
